How material is collected
When passing the analysis, it is recommended to collect sputum in the morning on an empty stomach. This is done during coughing, with the material collected in a pre-purchased or obtained laboratory container with a tightly swirling lid. When collecting material, you must adhere to these rules:
- Before coughing, you need to thoroughly brush your teeth, rinse the oral cavity. This is necessary so that impurities do not appear in the sputum that distort the result.
- If when coughing sputum is separated weakly, in the evening it is recommended to take an expectorant with a warm drink. This is due to the fact that the analysis will require content after the so-called deep coughing.
- It is very important to collect only the sputum that was released directly during coughing, and not as a result of simple expectoration.
Procedure for analysis
To obtain the desired result, it is necessary to follow a certain technique, which will allow you to obtain the right material for research:
- After the morning rise, clean the mouth and throat with boiled water, then you need to sit near an open window.
- In the fresh air, take a deep breath 2 times and exhale completely.
- At the time of the third breath, stand up so that the lungs are as full as possible, then exhale with force, which will allow the diaphragm to press the lower part of the lungs, this technique allows you to cause a cough attack.
- Spit the sputum in a laboratory container, and tightly screw it with a lid.
It is important to deliver the sample within one hour of its selection, which guarantees maximum accuracy of the analysis. It is advisable to place the container during delivery in a dark cool place. You can take the analysis only in licensed laboratories, which include our center.
