40% of people over 60 live with tinnitus and consider it normal. They say it's just age. But tinnitus is not an ear problem. It is poor circulation, a tight neck, poor lymph flow, spasmed muscles.
Here are 5 simple techniques that will help remove tinnitus:
- Ear massage. Pull your ear in different directions. Look for the direction where you feel pain inside. Gently pull in that direction. At the moment of stretching, open your mouth or yawn - this equalizes pressure and works out the Eustachian tube.
- Rubbing behind the ear. There, inside the temporal bone, the hearing mechanism is located. Rubbing improves blood flow and relieves spasm of the tiny ear muscles that change the tension of the eardrum.
- Working with lymph. Overloaded lymph nodes in the neck and behind the ear put pressure on nerves. Work sequentially: the venous angle at the base of the neck → the carotid artery area → the postauricular lymph node. Plus: facial swelling goes away, your head feels lighter.
- The point in front of the ear. Feel for the dimple in front of the ear, opposite the tragus (slightly open your jaw). This is the lateral pterygoid muscle. If it is in spasm, the noise increases. Gently press and just breathe.
- The base of the skull. Find the dimples just below the hairline at the back. Massage in circular motions. Then place your thumbs in these dimples and move your eyes left and right. This relaxes the muscles that compress the vertebral artery.
If the noise does not go away or gets worse, this is a reason to check the neck, blood vessels and neurological status at a clinic.
